A cherished tradition for over 60 years, the Uptown Art Fair is reimagining its format and location and announcing the SoMi (South Minneapolis) Art Fair in partnership with Bachman’s Home and Garden Center at their flagship location on Lyndale Avenue. The event will take place in the Bachman’s parking lot off Lyndale Avenue and features over 300 juried artists, art demonstrations, live music, and food.

This shift comes in response to ongoing reconstruction and the redesign of Hennepin Avenue, coupled with the significant rise in production costs. In light of these challenges, a smaller Uptown Art Fair was held at Bachman’s this past summer and was a huge success with both the artists and the community, with well over 50,000 art buying guests in attendance over the two-day event.  We have expanded the footprint for 2025 and will be accepting approximately 300 artists.

This exciting evolution marks a pivotal moment for the Uptown Art Fair, reflecting its resilience and commitment to adapting to the complexities of hosting large-scale urban events while addressing the changing needs of the community. The SoMi Art Fair will also serve as a critical fundraiser, helping to sustain future programming and ensure ongoing support for Uptown Minneapolis.

Location:  Bachman’s Home & Garden – North Parking Lot (6010 Lyndale Ave. S., Minneapolis)

Booth Fee:
$350 (single booth); $700 (double booth)
$400 (single corner booth); $800 (double corner booth)

2025 SoMi ART FAIR IMPORTANT DATES 

  • March 23 – Application deadline at midnight (CST); Invited artist applications due. APPLICATIONS IN PROGRESS, BUT NOT SUBMITTED BY MIDNIGHT WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED.
  • April 4 – Jury completion and invitation status e-mailed with contracts
  • May 15  – ACCEPT INVITATION: Booth Fee AND Contract due; ST-19 with Sales Tax ID number must accompany fee and contract. Booth assignments are determined on a first-come, first-served basis, based on when fees received.
  • May 31 – Deadline for cancellation with FULL REFUND. Cancellation must be in writing, e-mails sufficient.
  • June 15 – Deadline for cancellation with 50% REFUND
  • July 1 – Deadline for cancellation with 25% REFUND. NOTE: Refunds will not be given after July 1.
  • August 1 – Friday setup
