Our volunteer committees help guide the work of the Uptown Association and bring the community’s voice into everything we do. Whether you’re a business owner, resident, artist, or local advocate, there’s a place for you to contribute your time, ideas, and energy.

Membership (Community Partners) Committee
Help strengthen Uptown’s network of businesses and partners.
This group focuses on growing and supporting our Community Partner Program — welcoming new members, brainstorming benefits, and helping connect neighbors and business owners through networking and special promotions.

Ideal for: Local business owners, entrepreneurs, and anyone who loves building relationships.

Community Outreach Committee
Spread the word and keep Uptown connected!
The Community Outreach Committee helps share stories, opportunities, and events throughout the neighborhood. Members assist with marketing ideas, neighborhood communication, social media, and community partnerships that elevate Uptown’s visibility and inclusivity.

Ideal for: Communicators, creatives, and community-minded volunteers who enjoy engaging with others.

Events Committee
Bring Uptown’s energy to life through community events big and small.
The Events Committee helps plan, promote, and staff Uptown happenings like the SoMi Art Fair, Open Streets Hennepin, seasonal promotions, and new activations. From logistics and design ideas to on-site support, your creativity and enthusiasm make these events shine.

Ideal for: Organized, hands-on volunteers who love teamwork and seeing their efforts come to life.

Committee members meet regularly (monthly or as needed) and collaborate closely with Uptown Association staff and board members. Participation is flexible — your ideas and involvement help shape Uptown’s future.
